Leadership development designed
for scientific minds

Specialist L&D partners for research-led organisations

"I learned new skills that are not taught in graduate training, but are quite critical for the success of those managing large teams and programs. This program equipped me with the necessary tools to excel in my new role and face challenges with confidence."
Dr Danielle Rubilov, Associate Professor
University of North Carolina

For over twenty years, we have been helping research-led organisations in the UK, Europe and Americas to develop the capabilities and confidence of their new, aspiring and experienced managers through our specialist science leadership development programmes.

Experience and research suggest that scientifically-minded learners are often highly analytical and process driven, and respond best to development opportunities that are backed by robust evidence and focus on the people skills commonly neglected during academic training.

Through our ongoing conversations with scientists, as well as research conducted by our in-house team, we constantly refine our programmes and approach to ensure they meet the most pressing current needs.

We can work with you, combining our expertise with your inside knowledge, to create the effective leadership development pathways that are so vital to your organisation’s future.

Bespoke and blended learning

A fully flexible, partnership-based approach

Whether your colleagues engage best with classroom-based training, live virtual sessions, or a mixture of both, we can tailor your programme around their needs.

Our huge library of tried-and-trusted content can be organised into a series of modules that explore the most relevant and useful topics for your group’s experience levels and context.

Or, with your input, we can create new content, role plays and practical exercises specifically for you.

"The feedback from the attendees was incredibly positive: Excellent and delivered at a good pace; good amount of interaction with others; gives you an opportunity to ‘think’ which rarely happens at work; valuable and very helpful with future career development; helps you understand where you are now and gives you the tools to step up."
Mariella Giancola, Head of HR

Choose from a range of additional tools and resources to reinforce learning and ensure that it translates into practical action.

From habit-forming e-nudges to virtual coaching, our blended learning tools can be integrated into your classroom or virtual science leadership training.

Virtual coachin

One-to-one executive coaching sessions provide a chance to focus on personal challenges and development needs. Often run before and/or after the main programme, they can also incorporate a Strengths assessment or 360-degree debrief.

Psychometrics and diagnostics

We are experienced and qualified in a range of personality and psychometric assessments. We can include appropriate tools as part of your programme to build self-awareness, foster relationships or develop an understanding of individual differences.

Recap video emails

After each training module, participants receive an email with a video recap of important takeaways from the session, plus extra resources to enable them to dig deeper into the topics they have covered .

Personal e-nudges

Throughout the programme, participants identify top action points, and receive follow-up emails that encourage them to implement their learning and provide useful practical tips and advice.

Resources portal

An online portal provides access to useful videos, articles, interviews and book suggestions that build on the content of the training.
