When working with colleague who are geographically dispersed, virtual and hybrid meetings are a vital way of collaborating and maintaining relationships. However, ensuring that all participants are able to take part fully, irrespective of where they are working, and that meeting time is used efficiently and effectively isn’t always easy. Challenges can come from the technology, communication dynamics, and a lack of meeting planning and leadership.
The success of a virtual meeting is largely down to the skills of its facilitator or chair. A skilled chair will identify and use the best technologies, keep the meeting on track, focus on the pertinent points, manage disagreement and distraction, and – importantly – ensure the meeting has a clear end product.
This live online training session provides you with the tools to fulfil this role effectively. Led by an expert trainer and with a small and interactive group, you’ll end the session with the skills and confidence to facilitate successful virtual and hybrid meetings in a wide range of contexts.

- Using meetings to drive things forward
- Creating ownership and accountability of tasks arising from meetings
- Holding productive discussions during virtual meetings
- Listening to what’s not being said
- Involving quieter participants
- Manage dynamics including challenging conversations / people
After the course every participant receives a PDF course handbook covering everything they’ve learnt on the course.
How is the training delivered?
This is a live and fully interactive training session. Just like classroom training, it is delivered by an experienced tutor to a small group, ensuring plenty of chances to ask questions and discuss experiences.
Using a web based interface (Zoom, WebEx, Teams etc.) delegates are able to see, hear and interact with the trainer and other participants in real time. The session is intensive, and last about 90 minutes, equipping participants with a raft of instantly implementable techniques to improve their ability and comfort running virtual meetings.
